By 1986, and as a direct result of the Chuck E. Cheese franchise restaurant remodeling and a significantly improved marketing strategy, sales within the company began to increase, and by 1989 the Showbiz Pizza Time franchise company began to trade publicly. In 1992, the Chuck E. Cheese franchise celebrated 28 consecutive quarters worth of positive real estate growth. Between 1990 and 1992 the Chuck E. Cheese franchise celebrated the addition of forty-five new units.

The new president of the Chuck E. Cheese franchise company implemented an aggressive redesign, expansion and remodeling strategy for the entire Chuck E.
