The total investment required to open a Golden Corral buffet business franchise is between $1,700,000 dollars and $4,000,000 dollars, with an initial franchising fee of $40,000. The Royalty fee that Golden Corral franchisees are required to pay is 4% based on gross sales on a monthly basis. The term of agreement for an individual franchise is fifteen years, with an option to renew every five years for an additional $13,300 franchising fee.

The Golden Corral Company first opened its doors in 1973, but did not begin offering franchise opportunities until 1987. In 200 there were 316 franchise locations, 134 corporate owned locations and 2 international locations.
