The focus of Tony Roma's is in multi-unit development (3 - 5 units) as opposed to single units.  Franchise Partners should possess a minimum net worth of $3,000,000 (Three Million Dollars) as well as liquid assets of $1,000,000 (One Million Dollars). A background in restaurant operations as an owner, multi-unit franchise partner or operations executive is also required.

Franchise agreements will be issued for each restaurant. These agreements provide a 20-year right to operate as a Tony Roma's restaurant.  All franchisees will benefit from Tony Roma’s superior Franchise Partner support systems. Tony Roma's is committed to supporting each Franchise Partner through every state of development and operations.  This includes site selection, restaurant construction, recruitment, training, marketing and on-going operations.

For Operations Support the Director of Franchise Operations (DFO) is responsible for assisting in all aspects of operations. Beyond the initial development stage, the DFO is the main source of support. Once the restaurant is open and operating, the DFO is able to provide assistance by disseminating information drawn from personal experiences, the franchise community and corporate staff.

Site selection is based upon the individual characteristics in each market. Each franchise is provided a Tony Roma's Site Evaluation Package. This documentation contains standard site and demographic requirements to assist in evaluating a proposed site.

Tony Roma's provides a comprehensive training program which includes hands on restaurant and classroom sessions. The essentials of restaurant operations, crew management, financial management, marketing, and a broad range of other vital subjects are taught.  In addition to this training to allow the franchise to get off on the right foot, Tony Roma’s offers Advertising and Marketing assistance to make sure that the franchise continues to grow and become more financially stable.  When the franchise grows in the local marketplace, Tony Roma’s as a whole grows as well.  For this reason, the company takes an active interest in how well the franchise is doing.
