A combination of local, regional, national and co-operative advertsing campaigns Wienerschnitzel / Tastee Freez gives franchise owners a competitive edge, allowing them to make the most of their franchise opportunities.

If hot dogs are your passion, Wienerschnitzel / Tastee Freez is looking for franchise operators to grow with the company. For $35,000, franchise applicants get a 20 year term of agreement, with a 5% royalty payable each month. The minimum advertising budget must be at least 4% of gross sales. If a franchise owner would like to own a multi-unit franchise, the subsequent fee per unit is discounted to $20,000.

There is a required six week training program required for a franchisee or general manager before final franchise approval is granted. The program teaches Basic Restaurant Operations and will get the Operator in Training acquainted with the daily requirements of operating a Wienerschnitzel / Tastee Freez franchise. The training consists of six ten hour days a week, not including time for home study and classroom work.

Franchise applicants learn payroll procedures, ServeSafe sanitation procedures, inventory and food handling skills, labor laws, team building, scheduling and customer service skills. Seven days are spent in the classroom, while the balance of the six week training program is spent in an operating store. Additional training is available at any time after the store grand opening.

Franchise owners have a choice of three building styles with land requirements of at least 17,500 square feet but no more than 22,000 square feet. The building is at least 1800 square feet with adequate space for a drive-thru. Building and equipment expenses range from $350,000 up to $1 million. GGI, the parent company, does not provide financing, but does provide a list of banks and financing options that will work with Wienerschnitzel / Tastee Freez franchise applicants. They will also refer qualified applicants to the Small Business Administration for loans and other programs designed to help small business owners get started.
