For this fee, the franchise is paying for numerous different things.  This fee pays for a one time admission fee to the Zero’s franchise program.  Franchise marketing comes from this fee as well.  Training for the franchise will be at Zero’s headquarters as well as onsite.  The franchise can expect assistance with site selection, lease negotiation, and startup.  The company will continue to support the franchise through field consultants.  Zero’s Subs manuals are also include in the fee, as well as the initial designs and layouts, and consultation with equipment purchasing.

Franchises will continue to pay a 5% royalty fee of gross sales.  In addition there will be a 2% advertising fee as well as 2% local advertising fee to be spent by the franchisee in their market.  The royalties pay for the use of the recognized Zero’s name and trademark.  These royalties also pay for a proven product with three decades of experience, buying power as a member of the Zero’s family, and continued support and training.

The length of the franchise contract is for 15 years to begin, with a renewal for an additional 15 years once that first period is over.  During this time continued operational guidance will include updated manuals as revisions are made, periodic visits from field personnel for advice on system elements, and continued support with issues that arise throughout the franchise life.  The advice from field personnel will include quality control, service, identity, customer convenience, advertising, marketing, merchandise control, training, communication, and incentives.  Continuous communication can be expected between the franchise and Zero’s, assuring that problems are solved efficiently and completely.
